"JOYSTICK"

This evening,I was organizing pictures, getting my ducks in a row, deciding which pictures/events I should add to the blog next. I have started the process of making our blog into a book for Trey and any future siblings. Each year they will have a book of "their" lives to look back upon. the monkey pictures have already been shown, i'm aware, however as i was looking through my computer i stumbled upon a series of pictures that i never really took the time to look at..but tonite, i was looking at them and i just loved the story that my sweet son was showing me.disclaimer: i did not leave him for a second with this stick and was very careful to prevent any poking of the eyes or ingestion: which is probably why i didn't catch the "lesson" at the time.

Look at his expressions, his simple, pure joy and curiosity at this "stick".

i remember now, trey, you found this stick and were just totally curious and joyfully excited about your new "find". looking at these pictures,i am reminded of the simple things in life and how easy it is as adults to lose that "joystick"....to forget what truly makes us who we are and what we stand for. as adults we tend to either get "stuckonourstick" when we should be making changes in our lives that make us unhappy, or we "lose/neglectourstick" because we are too "busy" checking the "important to-dos" off our list, or we just plain "forgetourstick" whether it be we forget what makes us who we are or we forget what makes us truly happy. trey: you reminded mommy not to "losemystick" looking at these pictures caught my attention to STOP: and "just be" for a moment, that whatever it is that "needs" to get done isn't half as important as maintaining, fueling, and adding to our own personal "joysticks". this thanksgiving i am so happy,grateful and thankful for you, trey, our son who has made our life so rich, and our hearts so heavy with pure love for you.

up up and away...

Houston: We have lift off!

this week(11.2.09) trey starting pulling up! i'm pretty sure when i walked into his room and his was 

laughing i thought maybe i had left a toy in his crib. i opened the door and found him with the biggest, glowing smile of accomplishment i have ever seen him show: i was tickled but taken off guard at how ''sad' i would feel too. its all going by so fast. i must admit, now his crib and doggie gates look more like "confinements" i think. in one of the pictures below he was trying to make a jail break out of his crib.  now he is pulling up and "cruisin" on  everything. i thought we were busy when he started crawling but this pulling up deal is a whole new game. trey: your sense of independence has grown so much this month(7months) and you no longer want to be held all time(well, unless your around a bunch of people you don't know then you want Mommy/Daddy)  you are Moving and Mobile. 

Halloween Party 2009

We had a fantastic Halloween Party! I am sad that I was too busy playing hostess, well, and drinking my wine, to snap photos of all the kiddies. However, I did snap some good ones of Tara and her "golf pro" Barton, Lovely Ladybug, Ava,  Precious "pirate" Sebastian, beautiful Izzie and Katy and David's 3month old "monkey" Enzo!  I am so sad I didn't get pics of the rest of the bunch..maybe next year. 

Costume Changes

i believe our child might change clothes more often than carrie underwood, beyonce and justin timberlake during their concerts combined. maybe since trey was playing "host" and it was "his party" he felt entitled to wardrobe changes or maybe it was because he was trying to impress his new girlfriend: Hallie 

whatever the rhyme or reason i was ready for him to stick with one.

we started off as a monkey. thinking that was too hot. didn't last long....

next we were a pumpkin

in the end trey chose his "birthday suit"....
