Trey'isms....

Over the weekend Michael was putting Trey to sleep I hear Trey say,
" Daddy, snuggle me up. 2 seconds pass....Dada, your like a really good pillow"...MELT.MY.HEART.

After swim lessons one day.
"Momma, I was brave today, just like pooh bear".....

Last week...
"Momma is Santa coming tomorrow"?
Me: No, honey not until December
"oh...that feels like forever"....
I'm sure to a 3 year old it does!

Gold Medal Gymnast

Trey finished up his session of gymnastics, our first real organized sport/activity of any kind and he loved it! I think gymnastics would be a great sport for him if it is something that he wants to continue. The last class they got to get up on a podium and receive a medal he was "beaming" as you can see. He was also stokked because he got a "blue" ribbon, he says, "Look, mama they picked blue for me"!Ah..to be 3 and have the littlest of things make you happy.

Over Memorial Weekend  I receive the following email from Deena my sisterinlaw, it made me laugh and smile all day! "Ella asked me to get her special Barbiees down to see them and she said this beauty looks like a frozen Aunt Alli. :)"

Lettin' Loose...

"he was my explosion into life"...Hadley Richardson. Hemmingway's 1st wife. I just finished reading "The Paris Wife" and simply loved it. I have never read Movable Feast before but now knowing the relationship btw he and hadley i can't wait to read it.  I love this quote by hadley and I feel the same way about Michael. I was in a lonely place when I met him and he pulled me out from the rock I was under,  he truly is my "explosion into life" and for this i will be eternally grateful. He is the light in my life...we aren't perfect but we are very much in love.

Saturday night we hosted a couples shower for my cousin Meagan and her fiance Lane. It was a fun party and everyone had a blast...I of course used the taco truck, again, why make it difficult :)

Cattle Barons Ball 2012

Our good friend, Luvi, invited us to sit at her table at the Cattle Barons Ball for The American Cancer Society. It was a fun night full of good conversation, fabulous food, some gambling and of course fundraising for a good cause :)

Mother's Day 2012

Mother's Day this year started out bright and early for us! We had a photoshoot in Galveston at 6:45AM....Team Casey were troopers and Michael was really sweet about the entire thing...considering his idea of "fun" is not getting up at 5:00AM, to drive to Galveston, to take pictures :) But, it was Mothers Day so he kindly obliged :) I was gifted a beautiful orchid, they are my favorite and a personalized project from my munchkins...courtesy of daddy! Michael never ceases to amaze me as a husband and father. I often tease him, "what exactly are you NOT GOOD at"?  1. When did you find time to do this? 2. I didn't know you even knew what a shadow box was. 3. I didn't know you knew where Michael's, the store, was. 4.  I Didn't know you knew where our USB drive and local print shop was. 5. I didn't know exactly how LUCKY i was the day you picked me to marry....but over the past 6 years its become quite clear....thanks babe, for the sweetest "little thing".....

Now, the only  thing i mention for next times project is to not buy the professional artist "shake" paint pins....1.  they are permanent 2. the fumes could make our little ones "high" :)...hmm maybe thats why  trey is like, "no mommy not those "ma-krs" "daddys ma-krs"....:)

Meaning of Mothers Day: Wrapped up in a Look

I had originally titled this post " random ". However, when I looked at the photos I thought, these aren't "random" these are what being a Mommy is about. As I looked closer I realized how Caroline looks at me. How she smiles and lights up at my very presence in a room...without having "TO DO" one thing I have in turn "DONE" many of the most Important things: I am present on a daily basis and I am love.  Sometimes, I wonder "am i enough as a momma"? Am I doing enough? Am I doing it right"? Do I work too much? Do I not work enough?...the list goes on and on.  Then I look at these photos and how she looks at me with such adoration and i realize, I am enough. So many times we as Mommas are our own worst enemy. Constantly comparing ourselves to our friends or acquaintances who are also mommas. We all do it. Even if you say you don't, friends, you do.  Caroline has been in our lives for just 10 short months and yet she thinks we 3 have hung the moon. I am her world and just being her Mommy is enough for her. Being present in her life is enough. My goal for this next year as "THE MUD-TR", as Trey so eloquently puts it, is to be fully present everyday. Trying to not worry so much about the "to do" list or what activities need to fill their schedule next..just simply living a present life.

These last five photos capture how important I am to be their Mommy. When I look at these pics I realize the magnitude of my job.

How did I get so blessed to be their Mommy? I praise Jesus for the gifts of my children. I'm not perfect, by any means, but  I love my job. A quote I like to refer to often "she learned over the years that there is no way to be a perfect Mom and a million ways to be a Good one!"

I hope, caroline, you always love me like this! You are such a joy in my life.
