Trey and Mabry

Mabry came to play this week! We haven't seen her since the kids started school:  Mabry and Trey are at different schools so it has made getting together a little more difficult! None the less they played and of course i had to make Popsicles for the occasion! This picture depicts Trey's Personality perfectly: no shoes, and only one sock. Classic Trey.

2nd Child Syndrome

As Caroline turns 3Months today I have to sit down and apologize to her for allowing her to get the "2nd Child Syndrome"...maybe some families are better at warding off this syndrome, but for me, its here and so is the guilt. Here are the symptoms:
1. Very few "for caroline only" toys/books/ as most of the toys/equipment we have are now her hand-me-downs from trey. i know it doesn't economically make sense to go and buy her new stuff when we have it, but at the same time i do feel guilty that everything was new for trey.
2. Not many pictures or long blog post about her. I have been able to keep up with the photos, however they either have trey in them or its just a photo and not a drawn out, indepth, very detailed description of what she is doing.
3. "just for a second" i set Caroline down alot. She likes her bouncy seat or her playmat and In order to get things done with trey I tend to set her down quite often, and she is sooo nice about it. She hardly ever complains. Pretty sure i held trey 24hours a day.
4. "flexible'' I claim that Caroline is so flexible, easy-going, go with the flow, but is she really? Or have we just made her that way bc well, we have to be on the go because of our schedules, and more so Trey's Schedule...his life hasn't slowed down with a new baby, instead we have made her fit into our schedules and routines...we never did that with Trey we def. "babied" him waaaaaaaaaaay more than this baby.

I give my Mom a hard time about favorites and now i totally get it. Its not about favorites its about with one child you have waaaayyy more TIME than with 2 and so on....The First Child gets alot of TIME and "first'':: first toys, first oohss and ahhs, never having to had share the attention or affection of Mom + Dad. However, Caroline may get less TIME alone, but she gets more TIME with all of us: me, daddy and trey who all love her to moon and back.And spending alot of TIME with us is a good thing! She knows she is loved by us.

Maybe its different with siblings that  are born closer in age as they are doing the same things and are on the same page or siblings who are 4 to 5 years apart as the oldest is by then is usually more self sufficient than Trey is at 2 1/2, however, with T + C being 2 1/2 years apart they are not in "sync" as far as their daily lives go.  Which makes this balancing act in my mind, slightly more difficult, from an attention stand point that is.

to my baby sister, i get it. Sorry for not getting it before...but i understand now.  Look how close we are, probably bc you had to spend alot of TIME with me and for that I am not sorry. I am not sorry in the slightest for all the TIME we spent together: even if that meant you got jipped on photos, new toys, hand me down bikes/roller skates, I wouldn't change how close we are and the TIME we spent growing up for anything. I hope you concur.  I only hope I can create that with Trey + Caroline.

Caroline 3 Months

Caroline 11 Weeks

Sweet Caroline at 11 Weeks! I found these cards in a drawer and man I wish I had found them sooner...oh well!

Caroline 2 Month Dr. Visit

Caroline at her 2 month Dr. Appt.  She did fantastic, not a tear shed, until her shots and she was flirting with Dr. Allison the entire time. His remark was, "Isn't she a doll, and what a HAPPY BABY"...it is music to this Mama's ears!!! Caroline,Sweet Girl, you truly are just a HAPPY, SMILY, BABY!!! Weight: 11.lbs 11.5oz almost 12lbs and 22 1/2 inches long. Head: 15.28'(38.8cm)

Trey 2 1/2

Trey turned 2 1/2 on the 16th of September! I cannot believe our little guy has been in our lives for LESS THAN 1,000 days...912.5 days to be exact. Trey you have changed our lives in more than 1,000 ways. 
Daddy and I were listening to music one night and a song came on by Guy Clark( Mommy had never even heard of him until then :)). The song was called "The Cape" and Daddy just said, "This is the song I want played at Trey's Wedding. This is what I want him to always remember no matter how old he gets or what life throws his way"...I didn't really get it until i went home and read the lyrics and then, well, I cried. 
Trey, we hope you always wear your "cape" and never forget that you can be/do whatever it is that sets your heart on fire and stirs a passion in you: YOU CAN FLY...just always take that leap of faith! Lots of love on your 2 1/2 Birthday. Mommy + Daddy.

Caroline Babbling...

This was taken of Caroline at 4 weeks! She is either babbling or gagging on spit up, its hard to tell :) She also toots at the beginning which is currently her signature trade mark, she toots all the time and i mean loud! I am attempting to use my inside voice and whisper, but for me that seems to be easier said than done!

The House that Trey Built

Trey may decide to grow up and be none of these, however, if i were going to guess at 2YR what he would be as an adult its either a Veternarian or a Builder/Architect! He is always with animals, playing animals, talking about animals or pretending to be building/drawing/creating something. this was so cute! I told me sister in laws since we weren't invited to live in the house we 6 would just go on a long vacation :)

Trey's School Note

Trey's first weeks in school have been great! We couldn't be happier. We fill out a daily report in the morning on the top of this paper and they complete the bottom at the end of the day. I was so excited to see that Trey was being a good "sharer" as that is one of his goals we are working diligently on at home :) YEA for TREY!

Trey and Caroline look alike at this age but are certainly different! They have the same head shape, but different eyes, same chubby cheeks, but different mouths and eyebrows and baby girl is has a little more "chub to love" than her brother did at this age!

Caroline 10 Weeks

at 10 weeks Caroline is so much fun! she is a happy baby, unless she has gas or needs to poop which luckily, the gas issues, happens less and less often. She is my roly poly girl and i can't get enough of it. She is def a good eater and sleeper.  Right now she is waking once in the night about 430 for a feeding and then back to bed until 730 :)She smiles all the time and has truly stolen our hearts. it is so interesting how every baby is different! Caroline is reaching for things and holding her head up! I love her so very much. She loves watching her brother, and tracks him wherever he is! She is the most laidback, easygoing baby this family has ever known :) She is a smily, happy baby,  and  I am blessed beyond measure for both my children.

I have not bought one single item for this baby girl! between gifts and her BFF Annabelle's Hand me Downs we haven't needed a thing. Thank you, Annabelle for ALL the fabulous clothes you keep sending our way. Makes it nice that the girls are 4 months apart for hand me down purposes :)

Michael Spotlight

as i was looking for some other photos to post, i came across these that i had taken right when the magazine article came out way back in MARCH or was it MAY I can't recall. Anyhow, I wanted to document this as it was a huge honor for Michael to be called upon and asked to be interviewed. There were only about 4 others interviewed as well, and Michael was by far the YOUNGEST and the only Midstream/Energy related person asked to be interviewed from CITI, Including people in NY.

He works so hard and he truly is passionate about his job. On top of that he is damn good at it too :)
