Father's Day Surprise 3

every time i would pass this place i would think, "man i need to pop into that dollar store it looks awesome"....
then i was told by our dear friends, Robert + Whitney that its not a dollar its like going to a China Town Farmers Mkt!!! It was the neatest place and the produce was unbelievable ! There are different venues setup and the bakery is amazing. Michael said it reminded him of strolling thru China Town in New York...lots of interesting things to see!

our favorite part was the the fish section! They have most of their fish alive and swimming that you can chose from and you can even pick them up to "inspect" them...kinda cool! Trey would love this!





then we walked down to what Whitney calls a "saloon for foot rubs" called foot spa, and had the most amazing foot reflexology treatment ever!!!! Reminded me of the place i went to in Singapore. The people are very knowledgeable about the pressure points in your feet and how they connect to your organs. Best little hole in the wall find for us in a long time :) thanks robert and whitney for passing this houston secret along :) we will def be back. AND
the minute we walked in the kind people took one look at me and said, "GIRL" right? I told them we were going to be surprised. She started doing the reflexology and when we were done she said, "Its a girl, come back when you have the baby and tell me I was wrong" :) It was fun! Although, my Dad still swears its a Boy! I'm going to kinda miss the guessing game...esp of random people throwing their opinions into the pot! Not too long and we will know!

37 Weeks!

here i am at 37 weeks!
we are so excited to meet our new baby and am looking forward to having my ankles and feet back to normal proportions!!!
we love you baby casey and simply can not wait to meet you,and hold you in our arms!!! i am always in awe and sheer amazement when i look at my belly and realize there is a human being living in there! GOD IS GOOD.

Father's Day Surprise 2

along with not getting to the movies often, we don't get a nice, quiet, adult dinner conversation that often either...so i took Michael to the new spot in town and it was very good, especially for "foodies" like us! They talk to you about the origin of the food and really make the meal into a culinary experience....our only complaint is that the wine list is very tech savvy coming on a mini computer tablet i think we still enjoy the more personal and cozy way: scanning our wine via paper!!!

Father's Day Surprise 1

so for my first treat for Michael, i kept asking him where he thought he was going...his reaction was here:

i had to giggle, and tell him that yes, that is def on the top of our things to do in TEXAS "bucket list" but ummmm, NO we aren't going there and you better drop your expectations of the evening by about 150% :)

I gently reminded him that it was a small, simple surprise.... maybe my idea of "small " and "simple" surprises should be based more along michael's way of thinking....i kinda like his idea of small and simple much better :)

No we went to the Alamo Drafthouse...a longlonglonglonglonglonglong way from dos brisas! but it was fun for him to have a couple beers and watch The Hangover!!! i chose to do this bc
1. we never go to the movies
2. when he saw the commercials for it he said, "well, we won't be getting to see that for a while with a baby on the way"!!
he loved it, and yes, at some point we will make it to Dos Brisas.........

Baby Casey: Nursery in Progress!

the nursery is in full swing...and we pretty much are at a standstill until we know if we have a baby boy or girl! i have some fun ideas on how i'm going to add some gender specific items/colors as soon as he or she is born!

this is from one of my favorite books ''the giving tree" and i'm waiting on one of my favorite quotes to arrive from ETSY by shel silverstein to go in the middle!

my baby book, Michael's Dad's Bibles, and my pink booties (just incase its a girl :) mama's intuition :) i have some white ones of michael's that will fit there if its a boy!!!

Prime Example

this is a prime example of trey's cautious, yet problem solving personality! he did not like running through the sprinkler as he was a tad scared about it and he doesn't like water in his eyes, however, he figured out if he holds the sprayers he can "direct" the water where he wants it to go! he is def. a quick thinker!
