| Toy Story is a big darn deal in this house. Not necessarily the movie as I have only shown it once. But the books and the toys, oh the toys. It is amazing how these characters have found a nice cozy spot in my little's boys heart. He know their personalities, things they like, things they don't like. And i love the actual theme of the movie: "The worst thing a toy can be: LOST" and " Don't throw our toys away"....Case in point. Caroline had placed an Olivia doll inside Lola's Kennel ( our poor, blind pug is incontinent and can not hold her bowels) So I was walking to throw Olivia in the trash can and Trey's face go ash white, like true fear and says, "mommy, what are you doing to Olivia? Your putting her in the dumpster for the Claw(the claw in the dumpster is part of the movie) to get her"??? Insert his eyes filling up with tears here. I looked at dirty, filthy Olivia and said, "oh of course not thank you for helping mommy make a better choice". What was i to do. So we placed Olivia in the washing machine. Trey's favorites are: Woody(Trey's Halloween Costume), Buzz, RC CAR, Mr./Mrs. Potatoe Head(Michael and I will be dressed as them for Halloween this year :), Jessie(Caroline's Halloween Costume), Rex, The Three Aliens, Hamm and Slinky Dog. He loves Slinky Dog. SOOOOO here is the story: we are in Seaside and slinky dog is everywhere bc its is the town dog, not slinky dog but a dog that looks like slinky. Anyhow, we walk into to a shop and they have THIS: Trey was in Heaven. He wanted it and he wanted it bad. Michael and I are very consistent in our purchasing philosophy for Trey. He has recently come down with the case of the "gimmes".....so we told him that he was able to have 1 souvenir from our trip and that maybe he should wait until our last day to make sure he didn't find something he wanted better. He surprisingly took this well. On our last day he and Papa went to the store to buy Slinky Dog and the rest is history. |
