Caroline 15 Months

Aunt A asked me this week " So, whats Caroline's personality like?"  I had to think about it for a moment. As far as first impressions go, she is quite easy going, joyful, loves other kids, enjoys social settings... going a bit deeper Caroline has a desire for independence and wanting to do EXACTLY what Brother is doing. She is a mediator. She is patient. She is kind. She knows exactly what we are saying and can answer lots of questions with yes or no, She is curious.  As far as temperament at 15months: easy going for sure, however she is def. making her frustrations known with small bouts of tantrums, she is becoming more assertive with her brother and not being as "obliging" when he takes things from her...which is good. Stand your ground sister. Caroline absolutely loves being and playing with trey. I mean it is a joy to watch. Our/Their :) current obsession is a game called "monster" created by trey. we pretend that the the "backson" (character from winnie the pooh book: pooh read christoper robin's note incorrectly thinking C.Robin had been taken by a "backson" when he actually wrote "be back soon"... :) who lives on our 3rd floor is looking for us or the "racoon" from our lakehouse is searching for us and these guys are the "monsters"...when i say "do ya'll want to play monsters"? Caroline's eyes light up and she nods her head in agreeement and excitement. THEY. LOVE. IT. So we ususally start in trey's "secret clubhouse" daddy made for him on our second floor under the stairs...we have lanterns, flashlights, books, blankets, glow in the dark toys its a real fun haven.. then trey will "Send" Caroline out into the "forest" which she happily obliges as she just loves going in and out of the clubshouse opening and closing the door, running to trey's room and running back to us all the while she is supposed to spying to see where the "monsters" are...then we all usually jump out and run to trey's room to land on either the "invisible" blanket on the floor where the mosnters wont see us and trey made the rule "momma even if one toe or one hair is sticking out the monsters will see you so make sure you are completely "n-is-ibile" ...akak invisible :) after a few minutes we make our next move to his bed "aka" the boat and we speed off from the monsters. I"m usually the driver pretending to steer and press the gas pedal making engine noisies while the two of them hide under the covers from the "water splashing over them" or dodging what trey came up with " jet skis".... we use a glow in dark pitchfork( courtesy of hte $1 bin at target) as the engine's key and sometimes we run out of gas and have to find a "secret island" where the monsters won't find us and trey refuels us using an empty waterbottle and he makes the "f" sound for the gurgle of the gas...( he is in speech and they are working on "f" so he exaggertes so he can feel the air when he says "f" really cute) All the while Caroline is laughing, giggling following what brother does. Then its time to START. ALL.OVER. Caroline will get down and make sure the "cover is clear" and we all run back to the clubhouse to do the exact same thing over and over. If I didn't say "mama needs a break" they would play this for hours....it is so much fun but its exhausting for me too. I tell you what getting in and out of that clubhouse is backbreaking. And honestly, after an hour of doing this, which is about all i can take, i sometimes think: I'm dirty. I"m still in workout clothes. I have a million other things to do and honestly i'm TIRED of the MONSTER GAME. But then i look at their giddy faces, who are taking this game so seriously, like the "backson" really might appear at any given moment and then i take a deep breath and scream out..."RUN...THE BACKSON IS BEHIND YOU"!!!!...and they take off squealing. They are my heart on the outside of my body. Not to digress, I know this post is about Caroline at 15months, but this is a huge part of her, this game right now and what she loves. She also still loves taking a bath with brother, letting the water run from the bath faucet and then holding her hands up to it and lettting water splash EVERYWHERE. I shouldn't let her do it but her laughter is theraputic for me :)  She is certainly attached to Momma right now. I am her current everything and I cherish this time. I know all too well, there will come a day that " I am sooo mean" or the inevitable " I hate you" will come out of her mouth. I literally have goosebumps writing that right now, but its true. Stages of life, I guess. how she only wants me. I make her world go round and that fills me up.that worw
