The "Other" Wine Country

Our family vacation was to Hunt, Tx. We went to the Texas wine and hill country and we were pleasantly surprised! We stayed at www.stablewoodspringsresort.com which is absolutely beautiful. The developer is the same group who developed The Houstonian, so everything was well laid out and perfectly thought through. I recommend this spot if you are looking for a nice, family getaway here in Texas...very family friendly.The cycling, for Michael, was pretty enjoyable. It certainly was different than the past five years cycling in Spain, but there we some def. hills and nice scenery. It was a nice time to relax, and enjoy some lovely weather. Sunshine and in the 60's at night! Trey was able to wear a jacket and shoes for the first time! My dear friend from College, Megan, and her son Carter drove up to see us for the day from San Antonio! We had a super visit...who doesn't like hanging with your friends, their kids and a good bottle of wine! We went to most of the wineries outside of Fredricksberg and Trey was a real Trooper riding in the Moby Wrap! We went to Luchenback Tx and Trey LOVED the Steer and the dozens of Motorcycle Groupies!We hiked in Lost Maples State Park and went to the Guadalupe River. We also ate the best Enchiladas in Bandera, Tx.

Labor Day

Monday, we saw Uncle Ryan and Aunt Kristin(who are expecting their First Baby at the end of March, due a week after Trey's Birthday!) Trey LOVES his Uncle Ryan....as you can see he also has eyes for his Aunt Kristin as well. Apologies for some of the pictures are blurry... I really need to take a class on how to use our NIKON....its a little "too much" camera for this girl. NOTE: click on photos to enlarge so you can view better!

Our Child the Eternal Consumer...

As far as baby carriers go, we have tried them all. Apparently, Trey has specific taste when it comes to his method of transportation(HMMM....wonder where he got that from?) Trey has purchased and tested the following:::
1.baby bejorn: that had too many snaps and buttons which made him uncomfortable
2.babyhawk:too constraining
3.serena and lily market sling: this one, in Trey's defense, was uncomfortable to me as well, being that it was not adjustable and I"m pretty petite the length never fit quite right, and well the little guy would hang down on my pelvis not on my hips.
The winner is ........
4. the Moby Wrap(and might I add the cheapest at $45 ....bummer...we should have listened to our buddy Nico who told Trey about the Moby Wrap months ago)

So now we have 3 brand new, never been worn for more than 15minutes, baby carriers up for grabs!
Below is Trey debuting his wrap at Central Market on Saturday. We listened to a live band outside, Michael and I had burgers(CM has a live band and grill station every Saturday and Sunday) and just really enjoyed that day. Nice way to spend time together and very little money!
Glad to know that Trey is happy but can anybody see WHY MOMMY is liking the wrap too?
HINT: My hands are free to use as I please!!!!

A Random Tuesday

Tuesday we were just rollin in "the Trey-Force One" aka the name Michael has given to our stroller....and yes, thats a sun hat.  We rarely go out without one bc his skin is sooo white/fair, something this Italian gal is not used to at all! Here are some super pics of him happy as a clam,at least for the 20mins we were outside! HA! Please notice his "BIG TOE" Trey has a very large big toe.....

"Tripoding" for Lola...I think Lola will be a big factor in getting Trey to crawl...he wants to be anywhere that she is!!!!

A note for Trey

The above and below pictures are from his First Day here on Earth! Trey I don't even think on this day did I truly realize the extent to which my love for you would be. On this day I don't think I realized the magnitude in which you would happily and joyfully impact the lives of Daddy and myself. You have now blessed us with 5months of getting to know you and my heart couldn't be more full of love than it is today.  You are my sunshine, my gift, on loan, from God and I am blessed to have you. I pray daily that you will learn from what Daddy and I "DO" and not just what we say. I hope to teach you, by example, in the way I live my life and how I treat people::::: kindness, the virtue of giving to others,that material possessions can sometimes "own" you rather than you owning them,  the act of forgiveness(because forgiveness is an act to me, a verb, something hard to do but we must learn to forgive or I feel the bitterness will take over you), honesty, self esteem(that even though you may never reach what our society deems as "Normal"....normal height, looks, body image, personality you name it) that you can still achieve/strive to be anything you want and just because you don't fit into a box doesn't define who you are: you my love, define who you are. I want to teach you to have ambition, to work for what you want in life, to have a purpose, something to pursue, to be goal oriented no matter the goal set one and know what it feels like to achieve it..I want to teach you empathy, empathy towards people you know and people you don't know....I look at you and  your so innocent, made in God's perfect image and I think, what a huge responsibility Daddy and I have to teach you and nuture you into a self-sufficient, kind, loving man who can make smart decisions when faced with peer pressure and tough choices, I hope you know you can ALWAYS come to me and Daddy for anything, We will always be here to help you even if we don't like the situation your in we will never turn our back on you, just always communicate with us,and in the end  I think I don't need a game plan: my plan is simple: I will strive to teach you by my example;which is not perfect, but  you make me accountable to "model" to you daily and you are a constant reminder that I have a "choice" to make on how to handle situations as you watch me and to take advantage as we Educators say of, "Teachable Moments"........I love you through and through and to infinity.....Mommy
