Shower for Allison + Baby Annabelle Part 1: DECOR

i had the honor, along with 11 other wonderful ladies, of throwing a baby shower for our friend,Allison! She and her husband are expecting their baby girl, Annabelle in March. The theme for the shower was birds/brining nature inside! I think the it turned out just beautifully!

i am not the best picture taker of my own self...that is for sure! but def. want to capture my belly growing as we are moving along so quickly! here are some belly shots taken at the gym locker room! Boy or Girl???? I am so excited!!!

"Cowboy take me Away"......

this weekend we took trey to get outfitted for the Rodeo! We got a great hat and some nifty cowboy boots! when we took these first three pictures on Sunday i instantly had the song "cowboy take me away" ringing in my head, "thinking, my baby is a heartbreaker"! at least he is my "heartbreaker" for awhile!

Mr.Fix It

it is so much fun to see trey's mind in action! so i had this broken IKEA playroom basket on the kitchen ready to be thrown out. And over Christmas trey had received this drill tool kit. So i see him climb the kitchen table and get the basket down and I'm thinking " what is he up to?" then he runs into the playroom and grabs his drill. Comes back to the kitchen and says, "i fix it, mama"! I was just so impressed that his mind put two and two together like that. It has been so much fun seeing his development just blossom over recent weeks!

trey loves being in GaGa's backyard! they have a sandbox and lots of gardening goes on! Just a cute snapshot of these two!

Austin

This past weekend Trey had a slumber party at GaGa's and Papa's while Michael and I had a nice getaway to Austin. What did we do??? Well, nothing. Absolutely nothing! Which was the point. It was a rainy, overcast weekend here in Houston and Austin was just the same if not a little worse. So we checked into the Four Seasons and never left! Except to check out some yummy hole in the wall Austin restaurants. We hung out, and just VEGGED out....pretty nice. We watched Lifetime Movies(more for me than for Michael but he went with the flow...),CSI and SUV UNIT Reruns and drove around looking at Lakehouses! Austin is such a neat place and the scenery of the hill country is breathtaking. I left my camera at home, but def. wanted to document these little moments, snippets of time that Michael and I get to ourselves every now and then!

Gotcha!

Trey laughs and smiles all the time!!! Documenting this, however is quite the task. The minute I pull the camera out he becomes "Mr. Serious" and just stares back at the lens.....I've even tried the "say cheese" trick but he just says "cheese" with the most serious of faces....so last night I snagged a picture of his smile while he was playing! I guess this momma has to be sneaky like that! Gotcha!

Making Cookies!

at almost 22 months trey loves anything he can do to help in the kitchen! Some pictures of Trey and PaPa making cookies......his favorite part is always cracking the egg! Trey really concentrates and takes it all very seriously. His little tongue has started to hangout when he is thinking really hard!

Prayers Please

I stumbled upon these two blogs, via a blog I follow. Both families are precious and as I don't know them at all, I feel as though we would quickly become friends. I hope you will join me in praying for Field and Preston as they battle these intense open heart surgeries. Preston is a newborn and Field is under a year i believe.

The strength these parents have and trust in Jesus Christ is utterly amazing. Please pray for these babies and for the surgeons who are performing the surgery. The amount of strength it must take for these Doctors to perform open heart sugery on a newborn is amazing.

Daddy has Competition in the Kitchen!

Trey's Big Boy Room: Part 1

Over Christmas Daddy was a busy busy guy! We moved all our guest room furniture and misc. items to the third floor gameroom, and into the 5th bedroom of the house which is now a guestroom! Since the gameroom isn't really utilized by Trey yet and probably not for a while since we mainly play in our first floor bedroom which is our playroom by the kitchen, Michael turned it into an at home gym! So bright and early mornings I am greeted by "Sean T and the cast of INSANITY" motivating my honey to get it in gear and sweat it off!

Then we started the process of creating Trey's room. I knew after a precious bunny themed,but soft and light-filled nursery I wanted something very colorful! We didn't go with a theme as much as things that Trey likes and tried to create a room he can grow with! I was nervous about going with a red color, but Benjamin Moore's "Poppy 1315" didn't disappoint me! I love the shade of red. The airplane lighting fixture was already here when we moved in. We selected his bedding from multiple places. The train pillow, sheets and duvet is from PBK and the plaid striped duvet and monogrammed blanket is from a store here where we live. The map is from IKEA and was a great find. Trey loves maps and it was the first thing he noticed when he walked into the room "map map". He loves the map that pops out of the backpack on DORA.

My thoughts are to use stickers to record all the places Trey and our family visit over the years.....Now we are just waiting on "decor" and personal things to make the room about "trey" book nook, pictures of family and friends, place to hang to art/school stuff/hobbies etc!

I simply can not wait to see the final result! We read a book or two every night in his new bed but he is still sleeping in the crib!
