Lake Weekend!

we packed up and headed to the lake this weekend! caroline and i stayed indoors most of the time, the heat is terrible, and didn't make the trip to The Reserve for some pool time with the boys but we girls still enjoyed ourselves...looking at the views and relaxing :)

Deer Valley/Park City, UT

Michael got to spend a week in Utah for some fun and relaxation: ATV riding and Mountain Bike adventures! He had a great time and loved Deer Valley and Park City... I see a vacation there in our future. He said the weather was just wonderful and there was so many neat outdoor activities for us and the kids!

Caroline: 1 Month

Caroline is 4 weeks today! She is incredibly sweet and loves to be held and cuddled :) She is eating about 3 1/2 to 4 ounces per feeding which is so much more than her brother at this age! Her feedings are also right on schedule: every 3 hours. She hasn't had any "spit up" issues as of yet and I'm thankful for that. Last night she slept from 10:30 t0 2:30...and Mamma was a happy! She has been eating between 10-11:30PM and then goes down for the night waking to eat once in the night and then around 6:00 am. Caroline had her first trip to the lake this weekend and impressed us all by loving the car: slept the entire ride.

On the flip side, She does tend to get fussy at night, dare i say, COLIC??? Anyhow, its not every night, thankfully, and we have found some good tricks to help deal with it.(thanks, megan) But it is def not at fun time at our house when her tummy hurts!

Instant Winner

this photo is funny on many levels! so trey and i are big into the "Buddy Bucks" at HEB. Everytime we go trey politely ask the cashier for buddy bucks and then we go play the machine! I have been collecting the points and bucks in hopes of earning enough to actually get something one day. We have been doing this for a while now and usually only get a point or two...you need like 500 points to actually win something. Kind of a scam if you ask me, but a 2 year old just likes to watch the machine go round and round...well on Sunday we were "INSTANT WINNERS" and on top of that won 50 points!
Based on our reaction, well mine, you would have thought we were in VEGAS at the Blackjack Table and I just won $1000 dollars :) We were so excited and people started looking at us like "get a life" and I thought well, this is my life and my kid just won its nothing big but he WON!!! I don't even think Trey realized that he won, but I tell you what it was the highlight of my day:) and yes, i probably do need to "get out" more :)

on sunday i walked into the room and saw this...my three loves cuddling on the couch... it melted my heart!



even Olivia needs some cuddle time...not sure michael even realized that trey placed her on him :) when i asked trey why Olivia was on Daddy he said, "because she was cold and daddy was warm".....

Caroline

Whew! Finally coming up for air :) Caroline is 3 weeks old today and i couldn't be more in love with my baby girl! The moment i heard michael say, "its a girl" i was over the moon and deeply in love! This birth experience compared to Trey's was so different. It was a routine csection and everything went according to plan. No epidural slip, no feeling the staples, no blood loss just a normal delivery! Praise God! Still surgery, but nothing like the nightmare of what i went through the first time!

It has been so nice to actually enjoy these first 3 weeks with Caroline! So far she is quite the angel baby. She is a cuddle bug and loves being in her mommas arms. She sleeps, eats and poops and rarely cries unless she is hungry or needs a diaper change! Caroline is eating about 2-3 ounces 8-10 times a day from a bottle. Breastfeeding was not in our cards, so I am pumping alot and supplementing with formula. She does tend to get "fussy" at night but i believe its due to gas...bc she doesn't cry or wail for hours on end leads me to believe she does not have colic, just gas! Lets hope so! We do give her Colic Calm and that seems to ease her tummy troubles. So far Caroline is very "go with flow" and enjoys the car... again, hopefully this stays true!

SWEET SWEET SWEET!!!

Trey has adjusted as i expected. He really likes Caroline, and always wants to see her first thing in the morning, yet seems to be upset with me. He is testing me in alot of ways and i'm trying to be as patient as possible and stay consistent with my positive reinforcement. We are doing alot of "charting" around here and that is one of the reasons Trey got to go see Winnie the Pooh: he filled his chart up with the right amount of stickers. He is feeling at little left out and we have tried to spend alot of one on one time with him to make him feel secure with our love for him!

I think he is also ready for Caroline to "play"...one day she was in her swing(btw: not a big fan of the swing, would much rather be on her back in the bassient or crib which is great we don't have to rely on a swing!!!) and he yells, "Momma she did something, she did something" I said, "well, what did she do" his reply , "She moved her foot"! So i think once she is "active" and ready to play Trey will be a great sport :)

Our hearts are so full, tired, but full of love for our two precious children!

Aunt Jackie Visits

One of my beautiful best friends from college and roomate, Jackie, came to visit! She brought us the nicest gift basket that she made herself :) We love you Aunt Jackie!

during the week, i am the chef and on the weekends Michael is the chef! Michael really loves to cook and is very good at it. He certainly enjoys being in the kitchen more than i do :) Trey loves helping and this weekend they made guacomole!

Trey

Trey is my new photographer :) He chose to wear his cowboy boots to his very first MOVIE!!! He and Daddy went to see Winnie the Pooh on July 23 2011! Michael said he loved it and did a superb job the entire time...the popcorn didn't hurt either :)





trey is really into "pretend" play and the stories he comes up with is amazing. Here he was taking all the animals on a trip to the lakehouse, but first they needed to stop for some water :)

Tour de Casey

If our TV is on, we are on the Versus channel watching the tour :) Trey and + Daddy love it and i'm impressed that Trey enjoys watching the race! He is very connected to Michael right now and I love it! I know these two will have fun once Trey can ride with daddy!
