Seaside: The Town

In August we loaded up the kids and headed to Seaside, FL. I had heard great things about town vacation spot, so my expectations were high. Seaside did not disappoint. It is one of the most charming coastal towns I have ever visited. Situated on 30A near Rosemary and Alys Beach. It is truly something out of a book. Bikes rule the roads, Families let their kids run around without the worry of safety. It is a great place for families with children. I could not do the town justice with my limited photography skills so I found some and wish I could give credit to whoever took them, and some are mine!. The one above is one of the many airstreams on the main drag...Frost Bites a frozen ice stand! Yum

Seaside became "on the map" after it was used as the town for the movie The Truman Show. The pic above is of Seaside as the movie made it look for the set.  
It is certainly "chocolate box pretty" with pastel colored homes and white picket fences.

The community town center.  Bands play, Movies to be watched, picnics, Traveling Theater Shows and of course kids running around!

Trey is a big Toy Story guy. Bud looks quite a bit like "Slinky Dog" and his photos are everywhere. Trey thought Seaside is where "Slinky Dog's Mamma lives"....

Caliza in Alys Beach. Nice date night restaurant! Alys Beach is a newer development along 30A and has a more Mediterranean vibe as is their architecture, while Seaside reminds me more of the Hamptons.

An awesome toy store with very creative things....we tried to stay clear of here :)

George's is great spot to eat at!!!

Absolutely, handsdown the best gelato. Lines out the door every night.
