A Shower Fit for a King!

Our Janurary 31st shower was hosted by 8 of my lovely friends:Jane,Allison, Luvi,Lauren,Whitney,Megan,Melissa and Monica! As you can see from the photos below these girls pulled out all the stops! Photo Session:Dr. Kristin's Way

It has been quite a while since we have posted anything new.  We had a wonderful Christmas and New Years.  We are so excited about our little bundle of joy that is soon to be here.  Our nursery is all set to go(pictures to come), we have had  fabulous showers and another one at the end of this month!  We are busy reading everything we can, watching DVD's(Happiest Baby on the Block) and learning how to work all this new equipment!!! Strollers, Carseats, Toys etc.... We never knew Babies came with so much stuff!!!!!

Over the weekend we enlisted the help of our talented sister in law,  Dr. Kristin  who not only was just asked to be CHIEF RESIDENT(CONGRATULATIONS) for her Radiology Department but is also a photographer on the side! I told her if being a Doctor doesn't work out....she should try photography!  Below are just a few "snippets" of what she captured for Michael and I yesterday.  BEWARE:: for those of you who have "modest" eyes precede with caution.  As most of you know, I'm not modest by any means and thought these were too beautiful not share with friends and family. Kristin, Thank you so much for capturing this special time in our lives.

Sweet Bunnies

I'm still learning how to work our new camera: Nikon D200. It's supposed to do all sorts of great stuff but as of yesterday I can't even focus correctly!!!!

The bumper on the inside of the crib is this. Blue velvet with cream dot stripes, then the bunnies are outlined in the blue stripes. Ruffles on top are the blue stripe. Then the two short end bumpers are the blue velvet with cream dots.
Again this is the inside of the bumper. The crib sheet is the cream dots that match the ties.....
I am really excited about the nursery. It is going to be such a sweet, serene, and calming place for us to be and spend time together. The curtains are in the process, so I can't wait to see how it all comes together!!!

"When are you Due"?

Most of you, my good friends, know I"m not a picture gal when it comes to displaying photos of myself. But, I"m conceding and posting some pics of me in all my present glory of pregnancy plumpness!!!! My favorite part of my new "plumpness" are my BOOBS....who would have thought at the age of 29 I would finally have cleavage.....SWEET!

These are from last night on our way out the door to see Quantum of Solace. I simply can not believe Michael, Lola and I are more than halfway to meeting our Son, MJC III, !!! Very exciting.




For the first trimester, as I"m sure it is for most, I got many "stares" and you could see people thinking "Hmmm...is she or isn't she"? And since we all know you never ask someone if they are pregnant or "When are you Due"? unless you know for sure::: I was contantly blabbing to everyone "I"m Pregnant"!!
I'm 25 weeks and people aren't guessing anymore....I'm stopped at Target, the Grocery, etc.... and people just want to know "When are you Due"? Might I add how freeing it is to be showing and not having to say, "I'm pregnant"so that I can justify these extra love pounds!!!! It's exciting that people can tell we are expecting. And my friends, as you can see from the photos above .....there's no turning back now!!!!! HA! Our little man is out there....front and center! He has been kicking alot which is just an awesome experience.

Nursery Project 101

This weeeknd we decided to start on the nursery for Trey. After numerous paint samples and test runs we finally got it right: it is a sweet, baby blue: almost like the sky on a crisp, clear day! My parents, PaPa and Grama, Aunt Kristin and Uncle Ryan, and of course Lola all pitched in to help us paint. We had that room knocked out in no time!! Thanks to all of you for helping: it was so much fun! Between PaPa's "Larry the Cable Guy"Jokes and Uncle Ryan's pictures from his days at the hospital we didn't have a chance not to be laughing all day! Stay tuned for photos of our fabric swatches for the bedding!! We designed the bedding and ordered the furniture from the cutest little shop here in town called, Doodles. I can't wait to see the nursery all put together for our Baby Boy!!!

OH BOY!!!!!

Michael and I went for an ultrasound this week and well, we are having a boy! The first picture says it all! We are both really excited to meet Baby Casey!! Every time we see pictures of our Baby he keeps getting bigger and bigger...pretty amazing.

Now we can get started on the nursery! Stay tuned for updates!

On another note, we are all fine and are getting our lives back to "normal" in the aftermath of Hurricane IKE. Michael's brother, Ryan, and his wife, Kristin their dogs Phoebe and Penny and Javier the cat are settling in comfortably in our garage apt. We are enjoying having them here and getting to spend time with them. Please keep them in your prayers as they begin to rebuild their lives and home.

Elkins Class of 1998

I had my 10 year Reunion and well, lets just say that was a "Blast from the Past''!  I enjoyed every minute of it. Seeing old friends and just hearing about their lives and the different journeys we have all taken was really inspiring.  Friday nights event was at Sam's Boat, very low key and casual. Below are my two best friends from high school.  Deli Cole, on my left lives in LA and works for NBC Universal. Melissa Huffman, on my right, works for a Commercial Company that focuses on finding property sites for Walgreens througout Texas, lives in Fort Worth with her husband Scott, and at the time of this photo her 4 week old son Scotty Jr....does she look great or what??  I had so much for with you girls, we don't talk daily but the test of true friendships is when you can pick up where you left off every time.  Thanks, Girls for being in my life.

Baby Casey

I am a "Bad Blogger"...I know.  Its been almost two months since we have posted any new info. Things have been busy around The Casey household because friends, we are having a BABY!!!!! We are about 13 weeks and the day we return from Spain, I will be done with my First Trimester.... WOW..how time flies!!!! I'm just starting to Show so that has been fun! Our friends Kelli and Drew sent us our first onesie that reads "HOMEMADE" so cute!!!! And our Friends Megan and Blake sent me a precious shirt that says, "Pregnant is the new sexy" .....very fun. YaYa and PoP Pop sent a soft "snow bunny" blankie from Vail. Michael, Deena and Ella sent us some great books!! And Grami got Mom and I a book to track the Baby's progress on a daily basis....that has been very special. Michael and I are very excited about our new adventure.  Below is a pic from our first Doctor visit in August.Baby Casey's heartbeat was 173BPM.  Baby Casey arrives in March 2009!The Baby was moving around and I  think we were both startled at how emotional we both were.  I was farther along than the Doctor or ourselves had projected so seeing this little person(when we expected to see a dot) was a beautiful surprise.  We find out this week if its a boy or  girl! So stay tuned.  Alot of my friends who I used to teach with think its a boy because I'm popping out front and high....but we'll see, could have been what I had on that day.  Some days we can tell and others we are like, "Hey, where did the Belly go"??Healthy is our only concern!  To one of my best friend's Melissa, who is in Brazil doing volunteer work....I hope you don't read this before I get to tell you!!  To our Bible Study Group, if some of you read this before our Wed. night gathering at our house...act Surprised when we make the annoucement!!!!

Michael and  I would like to ask that all of our friends and family keep Baby Casey on your prayer list. Please specifically pray for Baby Casey to be HEALTHY.  Thank YOU. Michael, Alli and Proud Pug Lola!!!!
